Ninite - Install all essentials with one installer

Hey folks, I found this through a web blog I visit.

I have yet to use it, but it looks absolutely fantastic

It allows you to pick the essential app you want to install through check boxes, then create one installer that installs them all for you, which is dead handy for those who maybe considering getting their new OS installed (Windows 7 )

    http://ninite.com/

I hope it's of use to people!

Glad you've found it, and don't want to dampen your enthusiasm but it's been mentioned on here numerous times.
I myself have had problems with it, but have heard of many people that swear by it.
Does it work with 7? Only ask as when vista came out they had to release a completely new version, so wondering if it's the same with 7. (had mine since monday, still in its wrapper, mixture of little time and can't be arsed stopping me from installing)

I tried a search for 'ninite' but nothing returned, it's been aimed at the whole 'Windows 7' fresh install, so I imagine it works fine with Windows 7

Ninite runs on Windows XP/Vista/7 and works
    in the background 100% hands-free.

We install apps with default settings and
say "no" to browser toolbars and other junk.

Its not about the Ninite, its about the apps you're installing tho..

Interesting..... But it doesn't replace a real package manager.

Are they all Linux based? Also, ninite isn't really a full pledged package manager, it's just an automated installer, you can manage the applications with it such as update/uninstall applications.

Re: Ninite - Install all essentials with one installer

They are all package managers for various linyx distributions (APt is Debian/Ubuntu, YUM is Fedora, magaing RPM packages, IPKG is a lite Debian like package manager typically for embedded systems or distros like that NSLU2 hack.
