Abaxas, I take it you're a Mac user, and one that is unfortunately not in contact with reality. I pitty you. I have nothing against your choice of operating system, in fact I use Mac OS X on occasion, only your attudite to those, whom you consider to be, less enlightened than yourself.
I hope that in time, and with serve backlash from the less symptheic members of this forums, you learn tolerance and respect towards Windows and Linux users.

My point is that a gentoo user or windows gamer is not going to be able to comment on macs. As their requirements and not 'mac'.
Take a look round this forum and you'll fine zelots of all types. If anything the people who replied in this topic are just as bad as the OP's work collegues.
If that is so, why are you taking a strong offensive against the so-called anti-Macs instead of providing reason as to why a Mac might be better for some purposes? Just because you also use Windows does not mean you are tolerant.
Disrespecting a well established forum member with a considerable rep is not a way to gain respect from the forum as a whole. It will in fact cause the opposite. Defend Mac OS X, by all means, but try not to step on everyone's toes as you do it. That is what the OP is annoyed about with the Mac fanbois at his education insitution.
He has not said anything bad towards the operating system, only the users, who tend to be, unfortunately, ignorant.

Okay, this is true, but there is a diffence between being ignorant, and being ignorant and intolerant. A Mac Fanboi, as distinct from a Mac user, is an ignorant Mac user intolerant of the other operating systems on the market and feels it is important to convert non Mac users to Mac OS X.
Mac users are fine, generally intelligent, creative, and usually fairly civil people. Mac Fanbois on the other hand are annoying, and trainish the Mac image. They make me ashamed that my family owns and users a MacBook and a Mac Mini.

Do I use a Mac?
No.....
why?
Cos I don't have a huge beard with squirrels in it, and I don't smell of stale wee wee.
I like nothing better than building my own PC with a dizzying array of components that may never actually work properly together, and eventually have to come here to HEXUS and ask Agent to mend it all for me.
So... if anyone choose to disrespect Agent, even via someone else's Sig... expect a slap.

Aye, Vista wasn't even as remotely as bad as ME was. It sure had a lot of niggles, but that's to be expected when you move from one architecture to another and pump in a lot of driver architecture changes at the same time. Most of them have been ironed out at this point.
....But it didn't zap everyone's C:/User directory, so it's ok.
