    Strange email intra domain problem

Can't even think of where to start with this problem, thought I'd try the collective knowledge base that is Hexus and see if someone knew anything about it!

Problem - A website is hosted on DomainA.com and has a form which is being delivered through the PHP mail() function to address@DomainA.com

None of the emails arrive at address@DomainA.com or any email address @DomainA.com

If I change the recipient to something on any other domain the email arrives without trouble. Something is up with intra domain or intra hosting box emails.

As another clue the domain was moved to this box and the problem has existed since then. The mail() function works but the mails are not arriving at internal boxes.

    Any thoughts?

Re: Strange email intra domain problem

My first port of call would be any firewall / routing service that stands between the box and the rest of the world. I think some routers / firewalls can play havoc with DNS etc. when it recurses back to the router IP. Of course, I may be talking rubbish, but that's the first thing that came into my head...

No, it's a shared hosting solution on Hostmonster.com

Within the account there are several domains being hosted.

Re: Strange email intra domain problem

Do you have access to the logging from the mail server? The email is getting dropped for some reason and there should be records of it (with an error message) in the mail server logs.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
