Windows XP update files. Where do they download to?

As title please. Just reformatted my system and im currently updateing it however i want to remove the downloaded files after they have been installed. So does ne 1 know where their downloaded to? thanks in advance

they're not cached, as far as i remember.

So their just opened from the server and not saved to ur pc.

they're downloaded to c:\wutemp, executed, then deleted.

You can download the updates to a folder:

goto windowsupdate.microsoft.com then select personalize windows update. Check the box that says "Display the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See Also"

Choose windows update cataloge which now appears on the left. You can now select what OS you want to download patches for and away you go.
