    Oops I deleted my RAID

You know when you get one of the those really dull and inane moments, where you just go ahead and do something really inane and before you think of what you have done it's too late?

Well today I done just that, I accidently deleted my RAID, yeah I know it's inane but we all get our dull moments... I thought, OMG all my work and notes are gone, all my art work, new software I have purchased online gone. And then I remembered a feature which I'm not sure was in Windows Vista but is present within Windows 7. If you deleted your RAID from within the BIOS RAID settings or delete your partition; and then boot from a recovery CD... (if you do not have a recovery CD then I suggest you create one within Windows 7) select repair and then reboot, it will then recover the previous RAID or partition back to normal again.

My butt was chiming slightly and I thought it was not going to work and was totally shocked when it booted up and was working again. OMG I didn't know I could do this. I have a backup shadow copy of my hard drive now in a safe place.

I know how you feel, days ago I formatted my SSD after pulling it from my dead laptop forgetting about the 6GB of CAD work I had done in the last few weeks.

Turns out HDD undelete software works on SSDs too
