OK, senior moment time, [in Win7] how do you make IE8 download a WAV file rather than stream the damn thing??
The link is direct to a WAV file which I assumed would simply mean I could download it but IE8/WMP has different ideas.

Ah, OK, I asked for that one.
I perhaps should have provided a little more info.
The link is in an [plain text] email and in Outlook 2003 that doesn't seem to be an option.
Copy/pasting it into IE8 just streams it. If needs be I'll knock together a very simple HTML file so I can do just what you've suggested.
Any decent download manager will just download it. Or do what I do, just whack it into TinyURL and then Right Click > Save Target As![]()
I use Orbit Downloader to rip streams. Works most of the time. Failing that try Hidownload.
Once it's opened/opening in Internet explorer, you can just go file > save as and then save it somewhere.
Copy the link to notepad
Save it as whatever html file, open the html file and you get to do save asCode:<a href="linky">Download</a>
If you think you're going to need a download manager then you might as well install one. Otherwise I wouldn't but any "junk" on my OS...
