    Win7 + Studio 1535 lappy

I went to the Dell website and it basically said "no go" for sticking Win7 on my particular laptop.

So what are my option? After all I bought a retail copy of Win7 for my laptop too. Is there something particular about the Studio 1535 that means Win7 can't be installed?

That's strange I got the upgrade for mine although it's a Studio 1557 I think and I had to pay £15 for it. The website is https://win7.dell.com/ try registering your service tag there and see what it says.

Nope. Not eligible per the drop down menu (ie my 1535 is not there).

Nope. I might just try and blitz the lappy with Win7 and see what happens. lol. I think I need a 155X laptop to be "Win7 compatible".

If you've got win 7 it's worth trying. I'm a big fan of win 7 and it's running very well on my laptop, I'm having a much better experience with it that Vista, having said that I've been using win 7 from the beta. It's worth trying to register as the 1536 or whatever's closest, you've got nothing to lose.

    Best of luck

    Re: Win7 + Studio 1535 lappy

The only thing stopping me really is....conflicting user info when I google. Some users report it working fine, others saying stuff is broken and a few...are hacking BIOS... :/

I'll give it a go at some point...
