    Notification area

    Notification area in a friends XP laptop has "lost" power, network, clock and volume. When clicking properties, and trying to get them back, they are unavailable/geryed out.

    Haven't seen this before but,
    1) he has enough rights to reenable them (always need to make sure!)
    2) is it possible a third party application has been installed and "taken ownership" of the default ones?

    Ok, got it back by restarting explorer. Odd it did not fix itself on restart??, but all gd now. Thx
