printscreen on win 7

Sure someone else has to have come across this issue before and found the reason behind it.

When playing a game and trying to take a screen shot of something in game its not taking the screen shot of what is on screen rather of the desktop (like the games been minimized), issues is with all version I think (tried in ultimate and pro)

Anyone heard/know of the issue

Its probably the same reason you can't take a print screen of windows media player playing a video file. You can use FRAPS to take screen shots and video in games.

or see if the game has a built in function for screen shots, Source games use F5 as default

i think im right here -

its to do with the overlays used in video games/video or something along those lines

Yeah I noticed that with a piece of software, assumed it was the software at fault. It was FM10, but thankfully that's got its own screenshot function so I was okay.
