Cool Opera - autopaging is now possible :)

About the only real reason I like FF is autopager - but now I can do this in Opera:

    http://my.opera.com/community/forums....dml?id=355571

Works rather well, and yup, I did write that autoupdater tool in case you were (unlikely) wondering.

I've used FF for a few months now and whilst i'll still keep it around, I think i'm going back to Opera - it's real-world quicker (startup/scrolling/loading etc) to the point of being noticeable. I'm pretty hooked on the pre-alpha 10.50 version too..

Slightly off topic but I hate how the recent versions of opera broke my custom menu items to launch wget and download something to a preset folder instantly

Not tried the pre-alpha version, what's new?

Re: Opera - autopaging is now possible :)

A lot of changes in 10.5, primarily the rendering and speed. Some things don't work at all at present and some are just not right, but it is pre-Alpha!

I've spent some time trying it and have copied across my menus etc. and tried various skins - there are some weird effects.

Best to get the Classic Installer and install in its own folder for All Users. That way there's only the folder and no profile on C:.

Didn't realise you could do this with FF but if Opera 10.5 can then I'm very happy. I'd love a browser that has the ability to let me open a thread but it takes me to the last page. Well I can but dream!

You can get to the last page just as easily as opening the thread, click either the last page number or last page if it's available next to the thread title.

So it would do this automatically when you clicked the thread?

What about when you hadn't actually read it before? You come in after a couple of days and there is a three page thread, it jumps to the end, so you hvae to manually jump back to read the OP. On the other hand you could just click the blue tick to the right of the thread title to jump to the first unread post, or the arrow next to the last posters name to jump to that post.

Seems like a unnecesary wish to me

OK maybe a browser feature where when you bookmark a particular thread, one that is say 10+ pages, that when you go to that thread it takes you to the last page you looked at.

Does Opera have native support for Hotmail yet?

Depends on what you're after - since hotmail allows pop3 access anyway it'll work just fine. Personally i only use 'web' webmail (except on my phone where i use pop3 to grab my hotmail/gmail)

Or is it a case of MS blocking access to Opera users on purpose?

Opera gives me no problems viewing emails via Hotmail, it just doesn't let me send anything. Not even with the "Mask As" or "Identify As" options. This is probably the only thing that would keep me from switching to it permanently though.

You could try identifying Opera as IE or Firefox and see if that works http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/843/
