Hello,
I use ventrilo to talk to guild members on a game.

on vista and 7 there seems to be some sort of problem running under standard user.
if i run the program as standard user i cant use push to talk unless the application is the active window.

the only way to overcome this is to right click the program and click run as administrator.

the problem is that its a security risk. ventrilo seems to be hard coded to use internet explorer for links in private chat. since ventrilo runs with admin rights so does internet explorer...

any ideas to lower the rights but still allow push to talk to work without the window being active?
I tryed posting on the ventrilo forum a few months ago but no one replied.

I can't remember if there was a real solution for this, I just use the administrator method *shrug*
No one ever uses the chat anyway.
