    Cool Xna

    Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you have tried coding games using Microsofts XNA framework?

I've gotten as far as Pong and was wondering what you think of it. I don't have an XBox so I'll just be using it for creating PC games, also do you know any good sites where I can get game textures from?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Xna

I've used it quite a lot recently for 360 dev work

I think it's very good, surprisingly powerful and forces good habits such as loading XML instead of straight binary streams.

For PC programming DirectX is a better method however with the only disadvantage being controller support... but that can be added.

Textures? There are quite a lot of free sites, you should search for the format you need

I ran into this when I started a couple of days ago, I found a PC Gamepad Support for XNA Framework called Soopah.Xna.Input but you needed to have version 1.0 of XNA to use it, so I downloaded the source code and updated it to XNA 3.1. I might try and see if I can check it back into SourceForge.
