Guys,
Got some HD mp4 clips, about 35 minutes a piece, 1gb each.
media Centre hates them. Choppy playback, unwatchable. I have the CCCP codec pack. Avi's, mpegs, wmvs of the same resolution and size play fine, so I was thinking of converting the MP4s to AVIs, using Vdub or other.
If, say, the Mp4s are at 2meg a second bit rate on video, can anyone suggest what bit rate on DivX6 or whatever number they're up to now would give an equivalent quality of image? I'm a bit behind the loop on codecs at the moment.
And, while I apprecaite that teh MP4 tag is just a container, the fact remains that playback is crap, and I see conversion to AVI as the easy solution (having tinkered with CCCP, which had no effect).
Cheers
