The special edition does exist, I think I just comes in a fancu box and has an extra DVD of some movies (map making?) and a headset for online. Dunno where you can get it, IIRC one company had the monopoly on it for osme reason

SE exists, i have one next to me

However, you can no longer buy it in the UK . There are some more copys being released in North America later this year though, so you could try ordering one from there.

The DVD editions have one DVD for the game instead of multiple CDs. The SE has a headset and game editing tools included.

The normal versions (all) have the editing tools. Infact, every unreal game ever made has them.
The SE has the headset like you mentioned, but also a DVD packed with tutorials on how to mod the game. Everything from Maya, to particle generation within the engine

It was limited edition, hence once sold, they wont make no more. Or atleast that was the plan. I doubt we will see another offical release here though.
