    Google Earth won't install

I'm trying to install Google Earth on Win 7, but despite several tries, all I get is google chrome. Control Panel insists Google Earth is there, but I get no icons anywhere. Help!

All you trying to install via the Google DLM or Google Pack? Either try the standalone installer.

    Re: Google Earth won't install

I have no idea why but Google Earth doesn't appear on my programs list either. Maybe we've got the same problem, if we do here's how to get Google Earth running.

Install Google Earth by any method if you haven't done already as you normally would. Google Earth installs but for some reason doesn't create shortcuts properly.

Right click your desktop and create a new shortcut with the target location:

    C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe

or if you're running 64-bit Windows:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe

Now you should have a Google Earth shortcut on your desktop, drag and drop this in to your start menu if you want it there.
