    Photoshop...to web?

    Hi all,

I have a PSD file send to me by a graphic designer, and I now wish to turn this into a website. I have moderate knowledge of HTML and CSS, and the layout is fairly simple, but one thing eludes me - I can't get the damn pictures to export from photoshop properly. I have tried gif, png, and jpg, and all of them greatly distort the colour in the image that is produced; it ends up very different to the image I see on the screen in photoshop. Can anyone offer any suggestions for preserving my image colours?

Could you post a pic of one of the exported images?

Are you using the 'save for web and devices' option ?, and if you're exporting it as a jpg - is the quality set to 90-100% ?

    Re: Photoshop...to web?

Have you made sure photoshop is set to RGB rather than CMYK? I had this problem with images when I was doing the exact same thing, although from memory this just caused the images not to display at all in the browser.

As revolutionx said, could you post one of the distorted images? A lot easier to work out what's going on if we could see it.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

^Agreed, check the colour mode. Alternatively, upload the psd somewhere so we can take a look at it.
