    updates from windows 7

    i have up graded from vista to windows 7 ultimate, so its not windows 7 on its own its the vista with add on win 7, anyway i have 13 important updates to get but it keeps failing when i re start the pc.
    can i ignore the updates?

    I wouldn't; the majority of them will relate to security updates. (Have just done a similar job today).
    It's more important to find out why you aren't managing to get them now, as it's likely that future ones will also have problems.

    Your statement is wrong. When you upgraded from Vista you now have a W7 system, not a Vista system. Unless you maintained it as a dual boot. No you should not ignore the updates as they are important security patches.
    What error messages do you get ? At what point does the update fail ?

    Well, that's not necessarily the case.

    What are the updates that have failed and what are the error messages on the failure. Can't say much else without that info.

    Try installing them one at a time, sometimes one of the early ones fails and it stops the rest from installing as well.
    Also check its not trying to install drivers for something you don't have, or an older driver than you already have.
    You haven't actually said what the updates are would be easier to say for sure if you listed them.
