    Basic drawing / cad application?

I'm looking to knock up some scale plans of a new piece of furniture/desk type thing. It's only 2d and all I really need is the ability to draw to scale and move stuff around a bit!

Any ideas? - I don't want some full blown CAD program with a massive learning curve etc, also Google sketchup seems odd with the whole 3d thing - which I don't need!

    Inkscape sounds suitable.

I believe Sketchup has (had?) a 2D mode too

Thanks dude, that seemed to work quite well, I think I could use it for a few other tasks too.

I looked into sketchup and 2D, it seems you need something called layout, which is only part of the pro version of sketchup, costing (a rather bizzare) £321, so tempting as it sounded I skipped that one!
