    obvious q about installing windows

ok so im going to be installing windows 7, probably reformatting hard drive at the same time
as i assume that this would be cleaner...

but can i keep my data on a seperate partition at the same time, and only loose the programs
on c drive, while leaving my data untouched?

    thanks

As above, make sure you format the right partition! make the partitions different sizes and make a note of which partition is each size so it will be easier to determine when you are installing 7.

Hate to echo what everyone else said, but it is probably a good idea to select the right partition...I'm sure some people have been there and you don't wanna lose that data.

Re: obvious q about installing windows

I have formatted the wrong partition before when using some 3rd party software because it labeled the partitions with different letters than they were in Windows for some reason. If you're first name had an o in and not an i you'd have the same name as my brother lol
