Aside from marketing purposes why bother ?

Bit of a rant at Laptop manufacturers and aside from marking why must they insist on putting a load of rubbish trial software on all the laptops they sell in their range ?

I've just spent the last hour taking off all the junk that HP think I want on my laptop. Norton, trial of office, MS Works, some silly kids games, trial stuff from cyberlink. Can they not just supply a laptop with an operating system and leave it at that ?

This has come about because the trial of Windows 7 I was running on my laptop has expired so thought I'd best return it to its supplied operating system. I had forgotten how much un wanted junk they'd put on there from the factory.

Once I've got all my software in I'll make an image of it using arcronis and I won't have that hassle again.

thats why i got a dell laptop.
they come with proper windows discs.
so i simply formatted it and partitioned it as i wanted.

Sony are the worst ones out there for it in all honesty. It's a nightmare just trying to remove it all too. They just don't realise that insisting on all the tatt they put on they are making the system slower.

PC Decrapifier is the tool for you!

Used this myself on a Lenovo that was stuffed with rubbish. Removed all the rubbish no bother.
