Unhappy Power saving options starting when not wanted.

Essentially ^ that is the problem.

Whenever I watch a movie or maximise any of my media applications the screen saver, and then the screen shutdown functions kick in.

Before hand it would avoid such actions until the very end of the playlist/file being played. It happens with both VLC and MPC HC. I haven't changed any of their settings or Window's power saving options either. It's only started to do this recently.

Now, I have unselected and reselected the "disable screensaver" option in VLC but to no avail?

Can anybody help? It's quite annoying as you can imagine, and bar increasing the time to 3 hours or something I can't think of a work around.

Are you watching with the video maximised to full screen? Most video apps should prevent display power saving during playback, but some only do it when they're in full screen. Windows Media Center for example will allow display power saving whilst playing in a window, but never whilst full screen.
