Just wondering with SSD's having been around for a while now.
They work completely differently to an HDD and there are different rules for writing to them. I'm sure performance could increase significantly and wear reduce significantly with the correct design and TRIM would be a pointless waste of time. Let the filesystem deal with it.
Mind you, I bet ZFS does all of this. It seems to do everything else.
