    Tag&Rename linux/open source equivalent?

So on Windows I use Tag and Rename; but I hardly boot into my XP installation any more and would like a good alternative to Tag and Rename that runs either on the CLI or GUI based on Linux (Fedora).

Any suggestions of software you use?

Just basically want intuitive tagging abilities for mp3's getting the content from various online sources and the ability to do batch tagging.

I checked the 'free software list' thread but couldn't see anything that jumped out at me... except for using Amarok!

    Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

According to AlternativeTo.net, there's MusicBrainz Picard, EasyTAG, and Ex Falso.

Though I'm not familiar with any of them myself.

Thanks for the replies; I'm going to check a few of those out and see which ones closest to what I'm after.

Just so people know if anyone else is interested.. after trying a few of the aforementioned.

I've settled on 'Kid3' which works great, supports ID3v1/2 and has great formatting/filtering along with multiple databases/sources for album information (including artwork).

Initially tried EasyTag but didn't find this to be very feature rich.

    Thanks.
