    sabnzbd

It is great, load nzb in. Then it automatically downloads the file, extracts it and repairs it with pars if necessary.

I always tend to use either outlook or LiveMail these days. Used to use Forté FreeAgent back in the day, but there's no longer a free version.

Yes it does RSS (though I have never used it) and it does support remote access via web interface.

    Features are here: http://sabnzbd.org/features/

    Re: Usenet app client?

Pretty much, but you need a good source of nzb files.

I don't use newsgroups much (sometimes use the free servers, which are crap), so I can't recommend a provider to you, but you should be able to get a very good one for $10-15 per month, so £10 per month is a bit expensive.

Maybe it is worth using trying the free servers first with sabnzbd, to see if you like the idea or if you find it too much hassle.(google will help you find them, otherwise PM me)

Josh, have a look at this for $10/month:
    https://accounts.usenetserver.com/special/

    # Unlimited Downloads
    # 99%+ Completion
    # 592+ Days of Binary Retention
    # 740+ Days of Text Retention
    # 10/20 Concurrent Connections

I'm tempted to sign up for that myself!

    and there is this too:

    Re: Usenet app client?

Used newsleecher a year or 2 ago, was happy to pay for it until I tried altbinz which did everything I needed but is free (not tried the updated paid for version)
have heard a few people mention sabnzb, will get round to trying it at some point.
FYI, been using newzbin for nzbs for years, but with the current ruling I've been using nzbmatrix.
Also checked my giganews account history the other day, been with them for nearly 6 years!

    Re: Usenet app client?

Usenetserver are terrible, go for Astraweb with the $11 deal.

Sabznbd is resource heavy for the type of app it is, have a look at Nzbget instead. Works nicely on a NAS unit such as a Linkstation, and has a good WebGui.

Newsleecher is a good payware alternative too.

    Re: Usenet app client?

i started using sabnzb with newsdemon and so far so good! i may give Astaweb a go as i can easily cancel the rolling 1 month membership from newsdemon.

sabnzb is great and even contains an API for it which i intend to use along with a usenet search engine for an android app that allows you to view and access your sabnzb server.

Good idea? Would you guys use such a thing on your android mobile devices?
