    No Input Sound With Ubuntu 10.04

    No Input Sound With Ubuntu 10.04

    I have onboard sound card with my Asus P5K Premium, ASUS provide no linux drivers, and my mic is not working with the new Ubuntu.

    Any ideas on what to do?

    Is there a later version of ALSA?

    ALSO just a quick note
    It worked with 9.10 and it woed with 10.04 on vmware on windows 7
    now that i installed 10.04 on the pc it self it does not work
    sound works perfect just the Mic does not work.

    ahh thought it was a realtek chip usually is but not in this case. it might be worth posting on the ubuntu forums as they are much more adept at this sort of thing

    and copy the output to the forums here it will help identify the card
