    WinXP restriced users options????

As computer admin for the family PC i have stuck them all on resticted user
to stop them messing things up (although it me that normally does that).

But it seems to limited and i want to allow access to certain things for example the timeand calader in the sys tray. A restricted users cant access
it. Is there anyway of controlling what they can and cant do???

ALso does this offer any protection from the effects of viruses? dont just say no because its windows.

my computer, manage, users & groups. create a new group & stick them in it

    start, run, gpedit.msc

    play about in there

and no, viruses will still appear on the system, especially if you use Internet Explorer & Outlook Express

this is all on xp pro.

i'm not sure to what extent options like this are castrated on xp home, but home is sold for just that purpose - home users who are all gonna be running as administrators at all times

You can't create new groups or assign users to them on XP Home.

You get admin or limited. That's it.

If you want to do anything more advanced get the Pro version.
