Good (free) starter web design application?
Hi All,
My wife has decided she doesn't like our website so I need to design a brand new one. I was thinking of designing one online from one of the many free hosts then copying/editing the HTML to put on our own host but not sure if that's a great idea for several reasons!
Is there anything out there simple/free to design a site?
I only need:
Homepage
Image gallery (any good image gallery options out there?)
Shop (paypal for payment, just need a layout to insert my paypal buttons into!)
Contact (already have a form at the moment)
My needs are simple but so are my web skills, give me a DB2 database any day ;)
HEEEELP!! :help:
Re: Good (free) starter web design application?
No help? :(
Got some gallery HTML, just need to make the basic layout of the site now!
Re: Good (free) starter web design application?
"Steves free templates" is prettty nice, ready made nice looking templates for doing up. MS Word will edit it for you if you are clever enough and have it installed (not recommended though really).
I been trying to remember the one I used to use b4 I got Dreamwaever..... duh !
For a gallery JAlbum is good and free.
My photo website was done with Jalbum to give u an idea :

Re: Good (free) starter web design application?
try www.weebly.com - found it yesterday and had a site up within hours. WYZIWIG and very fast. Been looking for something like that for ages. No skill required.
all free, too.
Re: Good (free) starter web design application?
Thanks I'll check that out.
I've used a few 'free' sites but a lot either use flash or make it tricky to copy the HTML to my own host (that's all I'm really after) Do you know if I can just make the pages then copy the source to wherever I want with this site?

I hadn't tried cutting the html for use elsewhere, but was impressed that I could still edit the CSS
:)
