Win7 / W2K8R2 Service Pack 1 _BETA_ now available for public download

Once again for those that missed the subtle message in the title, the BETA of SP1 is now available for you to test - whilst Win7 users won't see much of a difference, those in the Enterprise environment that have been waiting for the new Hyper-V and Remote Desktop Services features will have something to play with.

No ETA for the RTW at present.

I wouldn't recommend applying it to a production machine (test in a VM instead), service packs are usually not "feature packs" and there haven't been any major performance issues with Win7/W2K8R2 to address with a service pack.

Dynamic Memory allows supported Windows versions running as VMs under Hyper-V to "hot add" memory as needed (and an Integration Service inside the VM can return physical memory back to the host when no longer needed or there is contention, though there is no such thing as "hot remove" memory).

RemoteFX is the feature that allows server-side rendering of graphics using the graphics adapter for very smooth playback through a Remote Desktop connection to a virtual machine running on a Hyper-V server.
