    Apple Software Update --> Tools --> Ignore Selected Updates.

    Works exactly like Windows Updates which lets face it asks you to download lots of crap which you don't want.

    It's 66.06MB for iTunes + Quicktime.

    Download + install took less than a minute so I aren't complaining

    iTunes requires QT for all the encoding and decoding etc. What is infuriating is how difficult it is to find the stand alone QUickTime installer. There are no direct links to it, you have to search. So by default people are downloading and installing iTunes when all they need is the normal QT.
