    Re: vista no sound

    What's wrong with Windows Updates?

And what do you mean by no sound? Is the sound icon showing in the bottom right hand corner, next to the clock? Is it muted or not? Or is it just your speakers/headphones with a problem?

    Re: vista no sound

Have you installed the right drivers for your motherboard's sound adapter / soundcard?

    Re: vista no sound

The Creatix SAA7131 appears to be a tuner card rather than an audio output. Realtek drivers are mostm likely what is needed.

If your system is prebuilt, try the manufacturer's website for audio drivers for your system and install them. If that fails (or you ahve a self-build), I've found that DeviceDoctor can be a very simple yet useful tool for finding missing/old drivers. Just download it, install it and let it scan. Then scroll through the results to see if it has a suggestion for your audio driver and try that.

    Re: vista no sound

If HDMI is ticked, that means it's outputting sound over HDMI, which means that your monitor/television is playing the sound.

If that's not what you want it to do, then that's the wrong setting.

Make sure your default playback device is the speakers. Try disabling everything else too.

    Re: vista no sound

you upgraded to Win7 to fix a sound issue? Devotion

    OK... here goes.

    http://www.medion.co.uk/service/?dri...rs_updates.htm

check to see if your machine has drivers for Win7. If so, make sure you download the right ones and install them.
