Recomend a UML application

Hi guys im looking for a good UML application i can use to design and create UML's for a project i am working on that is basicaly a port folio project to boost my chances of landing a new job in a diffferent role that i am at the moment.

im looking for one thats preferably free but if there are ones that are worth the punt i dont mind either.

Remember using Rational Rose in uni as part of a module in my first year ! bloody confusing
