Anyone else find that Windows Live Messenger crashes ?

I've noticed recently that the latest version of the above software like to crash, often. I've tried other various clients to sign in and find they too give me nothing but ear ache.

I still use the MSN network as thats how I keep in contact with most of my friends that don't live in my local area.

Anyone got any other sugestions as to which application to use ?

Same issue I had, you will get a message, or be typing and it will just lock up for no apparent reason. Been like this for almost a year when I keep going back to test it but I just dumped it and went to Pidgin. Does the job and will also allow you to connect to pretty much any service under the sun so you can get all your accounts in one client

Only issue is, do you need to be able to use webcams and the like as Pidgin won't use them yet. The new Trillian 5 beta I think does allow them and its getting a good write up at present.

Webcam isn't something I'd need to be honest as I haven't got one. I've used Pidgin before, but I do like something that fits into the look of Windows, but will have a look at Trillian 5.

I find Pidgin to be the least resource hungry but I know what you mean about being able to fit into the windows themes etc.

For now pidgin does what I need but I will be testing others over the next few months.

Oddly enough, since I've attacked it with the A Patch it seems to have settled right down
