*NB* This is compiled from extreme overclockings very excellent stats service hand copied and pasted into an excel spreadsheet, and then pivot-tabled

Figures are ONLY for current active users - that is the current active user list when filtering on the Extrememe Overclocking stats site at the time of me copying the data AND THEN going throught he list of existing Hexus folders so that anyone who has submitted WU's in the past 12 months gets checked. If you submit a relatively low amount the extremeoverclocking site shows you as inactive.... Don't worry, I'll add you in. IF I MISS YOU, PLEASE PM ME and I'll check if you've got any points and add you in NEXT TIME I do the publish.

I do this extract by hand by manually copying the data from the Extreme OVerclocking web site into a spreadsheet, then updating 4 pivot tables, so if you spot a bug, please PM me rather than just whine in the forums - it takes me nearly 3 hours to produce and then copy into the forums so finding time can be difficult sometimes.... and believe me I'm no slouch on Excel! Once I've got some free time, I intrend to automate the extraction and build of the data, but until then your stuck with little old me.

If someone can suggest a way to store the spreadsheet online so I can link to it from wherever I'm working rather than leaving it on my home machine, then that overs the "hit by a bus" eventuality.... hopefully that'll never happen though..

That's a terrible shame you're leaving us so soon after starting. I do think that 580 points is a bit low though....

With the clinet that you've installed you should get bonus points for every 10 work units you finish (I think its 10) so long as you install a passkey. That gives you an extra 3-4k each time, so the points soon start adding up.... You could also look at virtual machines to optimise your production, but personally I've not bothered as I've got my server at home running the folding client and I don't want to KILL it.

Every little helps as they say... I'm just working out the stats for updating this thread, so pardon me if I'm not quite on the button tonight - heavy week at work.

Running an OS within an OS. You can have 1 or more copies of Windows running, and within each you can run a folding client. It's a way of maximising the load on the CPU. People have been mainly using LINUX, and I believe that there are several distros that you can download that are, or are nearly ready to go, folding disk images.

Cuda doesn't work in a virtualised environment, so your stuck with running that on the host OS.

I'm not playing with it yet as I've got too much on with my current projects.

Glad to hear it! I think that the secret to doing this without breaking the bank is to use as many PC's as is humanly possible. Stick it on your works computer and any others. You don't have to leave them on 24/7, but that obviously does help. The graphics cards are my main points producers, but they chuck out some serious heat. I've watercooled everything which keeps all my kit ticking along, but now I'm getting to the stage that If I waant to do any more I need to upgrade the kit I've got, and quite frankly, I'm investing enough with the electricity bill, so I'm going to try and find ways around having to buy a bigger PSU, and fixing the two broken GTX 295's that I've got (that are out of warranty).

I don;t think that the 8400 supports CUDA so you might find that you can't get folding to work on it.
