Does anyone on this forum know any codec pack which will allow me to play videos using dxva on my ati 3870?
Media player classic w/ k-lite codec pack.

Nope, sorry. I Don't use anything other than K-Lite myself, its performed admirably for the past 5 or so years I've used it.

Thanks alot for helping a new member like me, ill downlaod k lite codec pack sounds good
Try VLC it is a player that handles a lot of video formats.
Use Shark if you must use any. It gives you a LOT of configurability including for DXVA IIRC.
