    There was some will-they/won't-they over the summer, but the probability of inclusion went down as time went on.

    btrfs-tools will get pulled in on install if a btrfs partition is mounted, much the same as xfs, jfs, etc.. Never the less, about the only thing you should 'trust' btrfs with right now is an OS partition, any semi-important data should go on a dependable filesystem. And BtrFS performance on Linux 2.6.35 is pants, so you'd be as well off waiting for 11.04 anyway.

    Interesting... nice that that page contradicts itself

    There was talk of btrfs being the default format, so that might be what Canonical decided not to do. Probably good thing too, they have a habit of being a bit more bleeding-edge than is comfortable at times.
