    Video Cataloging Software

    Hi Guys,

OK I have been roped into setting up our new media library at work. Hardware wise its all sorted, os wise our easiest option is another win2k8 server.

I am just trying to find the best way to catalog whats on there. Anyone had any experience of any simple video cataloging software? Will be mainly mpeg2/4 and flv files. Needs to be cheap and work over our network.

Or can any one recommend any Video oriented CMS's?

    Regards,

    Nims

I'd also be interested in finding something that does exactly what you're talking about.
I'd prefer something web based with a youtube like flash player.

Check out Media Centre by J River (http://www.jriver.com/index.html). There is a great amount of community support and is highly configurable and usable across many devices.

There are some great plug-ins also that allow you to grab internet based info and cover art and apply it to various fields - I personally use PVD.
