Ta mate! I've got 2 more work units due over the next 2 hours, which should net us another 150k points toward the 100 million. We're still looking to be just a little short though. Wish Scan/Asus would hurry up and return my second RIIE board and Zotac board so I can get another 2 systems up and going. Of all the times to be maxed out with the hardware, now is not the time to be falling short!

After this month end I'm going to get on with my clear out so that I can get on with my projects... It's not cold enough to be folding 24/7 any more on 3 rigs. Going to leave them on until the end of next weekend while my beers brewing, and then it'll be backed off a bit I think.

Off to play a bit of Modern Warfare 2..... not played on my gaming rig since last year!

Client core communication error. Deleting everything you have done so far. Woot! Any fixes. I have SMP 3 on and Boinc running in parrallel using 10% processor.

This is killing me. I have lost two pieces I have almost fimished now 500000 thingi WUs.

Gratz on the 9 million btw.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Looks like someone dropped a huge unit between 9pm and 12am GMT. 275k in that update - that's about 160k more than we normally get in our big updates. Looks like one unit as well, since the number of WU isn't unusually high. Someone new folding BIGADVs?

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

I had 2 BIGADV units finish yesterday, which has kept me apace with you - you contributed a similar amount so we pumped in about 500k. Englander, Union and Wobbler are pumping out 77k per day between them, so that's the bulk of it, but we now have 41 active folders all contributing, which is helping.

There's definitely more love coming from more people this month.... I'm not sure if we will do it, but we will be close to the 100 million mark at the end of feb, especially if we continue at the rate we did last weekend.

Any chance that the server you're losing can contribute anything again before month end to squeeze the most in this month?

I've set myself a target and am gunning for 10 million this month... Ironically we will probably score more points this, the shortest month of the year, than any other period in the year. That's a hell of an accomplishment from EVERYONE.

Nice to see a tablet folding too!

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

I am waiting for memory on the server hence it is allowed to fold for the moment. Memory is meant to be turning up today but no joy yet. If its not here by two, then it has another 24 hours in it. After that though, it has to go into production.

Just got P6041 that deals with influenza an odd 250,000 step work unit with a credit of 1395pts, currently getting about 19mins per frame and expected points are 7186 or 5182ppd.

Never gotten a 250,000 step wu before, at least none I can remember.

I've a P6040 at the moment as well. Getting ~4600PPD, around 22 mins per frame. These suck, as I'm not folding 24/7, overnight the bonus dwindles quite a lot.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Double post, but this is important: v7 release is imminent

Oh yeah, CPU and GPU folding in one client. Improved ATI folding. This should be good. I hope.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Whaaaaa? Improved ATI performance? It's taken them long enough!
Going by some GPGPU (OpenCL) apps and other stuff I've read, including the raw floating-point performance, ATI cards should be excellent folders if Stanford ever bother to release a client to utilise them properly.

From a F@H inside beta-tester on a local Lithuanian forum (a folder for Team Lithuania, he was the one that sent me a free X4 965 to fold on ). He says that the v7 client should be released within "several hours". If it's not out by tomorrow, I'll have to ask him what is up
