    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

    I'm using -smp
I've done 10 SMP WUs on the same machine/passkey.
    Passkey double checked in config.
I've upped the memory setting in config to 6GB (up from 3.5GB I had with my old CPU) - unsure if this will change anything

I just got another 481 for my last SMP WU, on my 11th now, will see if the bonus kicks in but it'll have to be HUUUUGE (?)

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

Thats pretty poor then (?) Assuming this CPU gets at least 12K PPD stock (with bonus I think) & I could get 2 WUs MAX out of it then I should be getting at least 6K with bonus considering a 500mhz overclock ?

Until I get a new cooler I'm going nowhere near 3.8Ghz! Stock should still be over 10K PPD though...

Possibly. For arguments sake it takes circa 6 hours for me per SMP WU (@3.6GHz) - if its a good one so i imagine an X6 must be faster. Don't forget to reach such a PPD figure you would have to fold constantly for a few days for it to settle.

    Re: Folding Chit-Chat

I was underestimating the speed at which it completed a WU, taking ~ 4mins per frame give me 3.6 WUs/day, so approx 3300points per WU, bonus should therefore be just under 3K according to my calculations. about2hrs until my next one finishes.

I feel your pain. It seems i have to re-earn my bonus points on the SMP client, currently on the third/fourth one out of ten - one crashed at 60% before and so i had to start from scratch

Something has happened to 500k WUs

Also, is the new V7 client the only client you need now? (with AMD/ATI support?)

    Thanks Tatty - http://forums.hexus.net/distributed-...ml#post2062380

I'll try and -oneunit my remaining clients

Not too sure to be honest.

How many clients do you have running on that machine? Are they all independently configured correctly, and they all have a valid passkey?

Did you re-install the client after changing your CPU?
Have the units all terminated correctly and completely?
Are there any mention of NAN's or Unstable machine in the logs?
Are you using a current version of the client? I guess you are if you've still received work units to do...

The logs are your friend. Have a read through them and see if the units have all been submitted to the same server etc.

IIRC there have been incidents in the past where bonus points were not being issued. Not sure if that's going on at the moment, so have a look over on the folding support forum. Most of the time these sorts of problems are due to something in your config, or caused by a physical change to your system.

Hey Tatty, did you realise you're now Hexus' most prolific returner of WUs? With 12,507 you're now 335 WUs ahead of Lowe, and almost 8000 WUs ahead of 1stRaven!
