    Strange problem with PC's on network

    Hi all,

    I have a strange problem and was hoping someone could help! I have 6 computers on a network, the server is not very old and all the computers are new as well.

    Basically what happens is when people are typing no matter where they are typing it will randomly stop and then continue in a few seconds, but after the delay it does not pick up the letters it just jumps to what you are typing after it unfreezes, so everything typed is jumbled.

    This is happening to all 6 machines on the network which is strange. No other known problems.

    Anyone got any ideas ?

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Are the machines identical? If they are it could be a driver problem.

    If not, it could be software.

    Or it could be malware.

    It's unusual for the keyboard buffer to be skipped over.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    I get a similar isssue with the machine here. It's usually because the (v old P4) machine is doing something else in the background. Virus checks, file updates, backups, syncs etc. What tasks are scheduled for the machines, and how often ?
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Go to the manufacturer website and check all the drivers are up to date. And maybe google "model number freeze n seconds" where n is how often it happens.

    I had a computer here do the same and in the end I worked out it was the CD drive, I disabled it in BIOS (because we didnt use it) and the problem stopped.
