Anyone else suffering from Chrome's eternally growing VM usage? A quick google (ironically) suggests it's been a fairly common problem for some time and has something to do with Chrome's caching policy. As an indication of how ridiculous it is, I restarted chrome a couple of times yesterday. By the end of today's browsing, the VM Usage on my laptop was running at 1.29GB. I closed chrome, this dropped to 593MB, I then reopened Chrome (with the closing tabs restored) and it headed up to 843MB - a mere 450MB less memory to perform the same task
Any clever tricks to stop this happening, or do I just need to restart chrome regularly?
