Controlling printed/scanned/copied number of pages on multiple MFDs...

Can you guys think of a software I can put in place to control who and how much is printing on lets say 20 MFDs?

In my work place basically someone is taking a pi** and printing shedloads - the trick here is to catch the sucker.

MFDs are manufactured by Kyocera plus there is few desktop class HP printers.

Software currently used [KM for Accounting] is really pants and doesn't add up copies printed by each user - they are all given code each under which it 'should' show the totals - it does not.

All printers/MFDs are networked and a single file/print server controls it all so I was thinking - if the software could tap into the port that is currently being used [or create a new one] to print through this should work, right?

    Any ideas?

    As above.

PaperCut Print Logger (which is free) to just track who is printing what and when.

PaperCut NG (free for 5 users, £300 for up to 500 users) which is staggeringly excellent value in the long-run - to control who can print where, when and how much. It's based on a credit system, and users can view their credits, can request top-ups (either through an actual top-up system, or just through the admin topping up their account), refunds, etc. You can set it so that you can print B&W (using the printer driver) and duplex for a discount too. Obviously it also does print logging.

There is a 40 day trial for PaperCut NG, though they offer to extend the trial if you still need convincing.
