Installing Windows 7 ultimate on a SSD

I'm having trouble installing Windows 7 ultimate on a C300 SSD.

I manage to go as far installing windows where it says copying and expanding etc.

but when it comes to rebooting I get a disk read error and I have to restart.

It then goes a little bit futher as far as windows boot manager where I get a

    winloade.exe error

An unexpected I/O error has occured

    and

    /windows/system32/config/ system

    0Xc00000e9 error

    I need help!!!!!

Re: Installing Windows 7 ultimate on a SSD

Might be worth posting on Crucial forum for specific advice.

All I would suggest (if you have a spare system, or existing mechanical HDD with Windows installed) is checking the firmware version. Latest is version 006.

I would also list you motherboard and which S-ATA port you have SSD connected to. Plus details of other drives fitted, etc.

Could be the image just didn't install correctly that time. Try to install windows 7 again.

Re: Installing Windows 7 ultimate on a SSD

I would use one of the apps to erase the SSD and try again. Like Secure Erase. You'd have to Google the Crucial forums for something similar.

Re: Installing Windows 7 ultimate on a SSD

I just got a C300 as well and it seems to immediately need a firmware update. The label says it has firmware rev 0002, but the latest is 0006. You might try updating that and then installing windows again from scratch. Here: http://www.crucial.com/uk/support/firmware.aspx

Here is the crucial SSD forum as well: http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Solid-St...s-SSD/bd-p/ssd

Re: Installing Windows 7 ultimate on a SSD

Some more info on the problem

    I have Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 rev 2.0 (BIOS version FB), i7 950, 6GB ram

128GB Crucial RealSSD C300 (CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1) (rev 0002) is connected to GSATA3_6/7 (SATA 6Gb/s Connectors, Controlled by Marvell 9128)

GSATA 6_7/IDE Controller is enabled,GSATA 6_7/IDE Ctrl Mode sset to AHCI

I manage to go as far installing windows 7 ultimate X64 where it says copying and expanding etc.

but when it comes to rebooting I get a disk read error (press ctrl+alt+del) and I have to restart.

It then goes a little bit further as far as windows boot manager where I get a

    winloade.exe error

An unexpected I/O error has occured

    and

    /windows/system32/config/ system

    0Xc00000e9 error

    I need help!!!!!

Can I install these drivers after windows has been installed?

Does anybody have a link to get the latest (best) drivers

Should be able to, if you're using the other controller.

But reading some more, this thread recommends not using marvel drivers, just the windows ones!:
