Re: Finally - The 2010 Hexus Foldies!

I may be being humble, but am not sure if I deserve to be listed with the other two for this award, yes I steadily put in points and have been doing for a long time, but I only got the folder of the month 4 times because there weren't many people producing a large amount of points at that time.

Both Tatty and 1stRaven have thoroughly beaten my total points in a short time frame, as I don't have a large amount of machines to fold on, nor do I run 24/7.

However I am honoured to be listed among you two, and this bit made me smile:

Re: Finally - The 2010 Hexus Foldies!

Maybe the message there is that everybody who contributes counts.... You contributed the most points for 4 months without any incentive or recognition. I think that's as noteworthy as anyone else who's mucked in the past 12 months. It might not be a lot by some standards, but it was a target to aspire to for all others at that time.

Sh1t... now you got me sounding like a hippy.

For what it's worth, I voted for 1stRaven. Sheer genius commandeering those servers and the results of the Hexus coverage speak for themselves in the folder member numbers. Lets see if it continues though. Be nice to see, say, a quarterly update, or maybe even a feature on someone's folding equipment/kit.

a good point Tatty - it mustn't be forgotten that "using work servers" is easier said than done. I bet Raven has put in lots of time into figuring out the servers and getting them to work properly as we all know that folding clients can be a bugger to set up.

U have no idea. lol. Damm buggers kept crashing until I found that you need to call them from a command line, run as an administrator in windows 2003 sp2 compatibility mode. They became stable(ish) then.

my clients are playing up... CPU client won't send data (stuck at connecting to xxxxxxx) and the GPU client has taken a 2kppd hit? And for some reason all my points for today have been wiped - now reads points today: 0 when it was 2.5k or so earlier.

What version of Windows Server are you on? My work server's running Web Server 2K8 x64 and had no problem at all with the smp client...

Either Windows 2k8 x64 enterprise or data centre. The windows 2k3 boxes we have are fine.

Hmm, must be some of those enterprisey features that MS like sticking in their server OSes. One of the nice things about Web Server is that it is pleasantly unburdened with all that stuff: makes it a good workstation OS

Re: Finally - The 2010 Hexus Foldies!

Well I guess that answers the question about folder of the year. I couldn't decide the critera, and it seems that our voters were equally divided, with a good showing for all 3 candidates.

    Folder of the Year is:

    1stRaven and Tattysnuc!

Might have to put that into My signature or status or something. Dead chuffed!

Thanks everyone who voted. Let's see if 2011 brings us more folding fun!

Tattysnuc and 1stRaven, good sports the pair of you. Enjoyed keeping abreast of this despite not being in a position to contribute personally. Keep it up
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.
