    Excel help

    Howdy,

Just looking for some excel help.

We have been given a spreadsheet at work as a way for us to track our calls/ First Time Fix rate, however I feel some of it can be "automated".

What i want to do is, if possible make it so that if I enter a call referrence into a column (B2 - B40) then another field (D4) increments by one.

    So as an example: -

    I enter 346533 into B2 and D4 increments by 1 - first increment so its 1
    I enter 346534 into B2 and D4 incremebts by 1 - D4 then displays as 2

Within the B column only * or six numbers will ever be added.

Im pretty sure it can be done..just dont know how.

    Quick help would be appreciated

If I understand your post correctly, all you need to do is store your starting number somewhere (it can be hidden or with white text) and then D4 you subtract the current B2 - Starting Number

    Something like this:
    B1 C1 D1 [hidden] 346532
    B2 364533 C2 D2
    B3 C3 D3
    B4 C4 D4 =B2-D$1

(D$1 so that you can fill that formula down)
