A little bit of a blow to our PPD

I'm having to turn off 3/4 of my folding rigs today since we are benchmarking the servers for visualisation. Its a 30 day benchmark so I don't expect to be hitting more than 50k ppd for the next month (and thats if I can keep several of the new servers in the 'preparation' stage.

Ah well. Guess who's in the middle of rebuilding 2 rigs now... I'm own to 25k ppd until my new i7 970 arrives and I've rebuily my new server.

I've only got my old server running since yesterday. I've given up on the football (Villa) and the Amercian football (Jets) this season, so I thought I'd get on with the rebuilds that I've been putting off for one or another reason.

Would post a picture of my room, but I can'y find my camera. Let's say it looks like an explosion in a tech factory!

What would be best for folding then? an X3 @ 3.2Ghz or an overclocked GTX 260 ?

That's not a bad thing!

IO've setup the GPu client as SMP one was far too complicated for me to bother with

Yea, GPU should get you more and the GPU client is also much friendlier than the SMP client.

a bit of good news - I've been able to fire all the clients back up for this weekend. Should be ok to push another million points through before I have to close them down on Tuesday.

So what are the best settings for the client? I've set checkpoint freq low as I'm always on/off the machine so don't want to lose 20mins of folding, is there a negative side to doing this?

What about the NOT lock cores option & the client parameters (either in the config or on the shortcut?)
