    Windows Update

I am running windows7 ultimate. When I try to use windows update I get an error message:

Windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer.

I have checked the services and windows update service is running, needless to say I have restarted the computer, any idea on how to get windows update working again? It was working fine earlier today. I have replaced the hard drive and put back an image of the old drive but I cant see how this would affect windows update.

    Thanks

Anything in the event log? Date and time ok?
Guessing Windows re-activated ok after reverting to the old image?

    Re: Windows Update

I ran a SFC /SCANNOW which seems to have sorted out the issue. Thanks for your reply
