    MSE & McAfee ?

I downloaded MSE for XP last night after hearing there had been an updated version. When I went to install it, It offered to upgrade the version I had installed before and then installed McAfee virus scanner too.

There are lots of pretend spyware programs around. Make sure you got the right one?

It looked like the Microsoft download page to me, anyway it was easy to uninstall the McAfee bit.

Odd indeed, there are two official MS sites for dling MSE http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ and http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...2-33d813687a7f, I used the first to dl ver 2 of MSE and it had no other sware with it (certainly no McAfee).
