ID3 Tags banjaxxed

Hi all,

WMP seems to have done something to around half of the ID3 tags on the MP3s in my music collection. I now have a section called "unknown" with dozens of tracks in with unassigned albums and artists. Does anyone know of a good programme that could rebuild the tags and effectively fix this for me?

Er, me too. A large portion of my music collection is borked and I don't really want to edit the tags manually.

Will give that a go tonight, i listen to some pretty underground stuff though so it may well struggle with some of it. We'll see eh

Its picked up Live recordings that ive made from gigs and some obscure 80's boot legs I have, it does take a while tho...

how is your music stored directory wise? If it's stored as music>artist>album>track_no-track_name.mp3 then you can use mp3tag to rename the whole lot in 1 go by using the directory names and file names.

All are named according to track and until recently were tagged correctly.
