After yet again finding out how useless xcopy is when dealing with more than about 3 word documents, does anybody know the answer to this?
Its part of Windows Vista/7 so not sure what you mean?

AFAIK robocopy replaced xcpoy in Vista, and I have to say I've never had any problems with xcopy personally: use it in a log-off script at work to do everyone's backups with no issues...

IIRC, xcopy was described as "deprecated" under Vista - running the command resulted in a message advising the user to use Robocopy instead (although it would still work). I was quite surprised to see that it's apparently "undeprecated" under 7, or at least the message has gone.
I haven't a clue why this should be, AFAIK xcopy doesn't have any capabilities missing in Robocopy...?![]()
Cause they're both a bit crap compared to RichCopy?
TerraCopy FTW
There is actually a Robocopy GUI for that. RichCopy is a separate utility.
