    Error when Installing Windows 7

I'm trying to install Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit on my new Custom Built PC.

    I'm getting the error message:
"Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"
This error message appears at 4% whilst expanding/extracting the files

Also, I have to press the Clear CMOS button to actually get the PC running - The MoBo comes on with power but nothing else until i press that button !

E: Sometimes I get the error msg "BOOTMGR IS MISSING" but I can pass that by restarting and going into BIOS & selecting the correct boot device.

    Specs:
    AMD Phenom II X6 2.8GHz
    Asus M4A87TD EVO USB3
    640GB WD Caviar Black (6Gb/s)
    22" (1920x1080)
    ATI Radeon HD 5770
    4GB Corsair XMS3 (1600MHz)
    Seasonic 620W Modular
    Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler

No Operating system has ever been installed on this system / HDD.

If you could kindly give some feedback, I'd be happy to test your suggestions tomorrow.

    Thanks

I take it you have checked the condition of the windows disc, other than that, what are your cpu temps in the bios and just after it has aborted the install, could be overheating at that perticular point if the heatsink isn't making good contact.

I agree it seems there is something wrong with the disk. Make sure your heatsink fan cable is attatched to your motherboard.

Re: Error when Installing Windows 7

I would try getting UBCD running on it, do some tests of the hardware from inside the disk boot.

Well this strikes me as the first problem to solve.

Can you save settings with the cleared defaults which allow it to POST, then sucsessfully POST again without having to use the clr cmos btn?

Re: Error when Installing Windows 7

The install issue could be a duff disk or scratches on the disk. I had the same error when trying the Release Candidate of W7 and resolved it by downloading the image again and burning a new disk.

Re: Error when Installing Windows 7

    Thanks for the input guys.

I simply used Windows 7 Ultimate instead of Pro and now it's working like a beast
